La instalación se ubica en la región de Ñuble, Chile

Grupo HAM y HAM Chile, en alianza con Empresas Lipigas, han inaugurado en la región de Ñuble su primera planta de upgrading y producción de Bio GNL (gas natural licuado renovable) en Sudamérica. Este hito permitirá la obtención de biometano en fase líquida a partir de biogás, que será comercializado por Lipigas para abastecer a empresas de transporte e industrias chilenas, contribuyendo a la transición energética del país.

La nueva planta se distingue por su diseño modular contenerizado tipo “plug & play”, compuesto por seis módulos independientes y fácilmente interconectables: tres dedicados al tratamiento del biogás (limpieza y licuefacción) y tres destinados a los servicios auxiliares, como suministro de agua y aire seco. Gracias a esta configuración, la instalación ha podido ejecutarse en plazos reducidos y con una rápida puesta en marcha.

El Bio GNL se obtiene a partir del biogás generado en una planta de codigestión anaeróbica, que procesa residuos orgánicos provenientes de la industria porcina. El sistema, completamente automatizado y gestionado en remoto, tendrá en su primera fase una capacidad de procesamiento de 7.500 m³/día de biogás, con el objetivo de alcanzar 16.500 m³/día en su máxima operación. El biometano producido servirá de materia prima para las estaciones de servicio de Lipigas, donde abastecerá a las flotas de camiones de carga que recorren Chile con el objetivo de descarbonizar el sector del transporte por carretera.

Este proyecto refuerza el compromiso de Grupo HAM con la descarbonización y la sostenibilidad de los sectores del transporte y la industria, ofreciendo soluciones energéticas limpias y promoviendo la Economía Circular al valorizar residuos orgánicos, dinamizar la economía local, generar empleo en zonas rurales y devolver nutrientes al suelo, a la vez que ofrece una alternativa sostenible frente a la incineración o el vertido de residuos.

La planta de Ñuble se suma a otros proyectos operativos de Grupo HAM en Girona (España) y Faenza (Italia), consolidando su liderazgo internacional en Bio GNL y ampliando su presencia en Latinoamérica con nuevas iniciativas en desarrollo.

Molgas and Titan fully join forces

New integrated single company will form the leader in downstream LNG in Europe

Madrid, Spain and Amsterdam, the Netherlands – October 7, 2025 – Molgas Energy Group (“Molgas”), backed by infrastructure investor InfraVia, has finalized the full acquisition of Titan Energy Holding, parent company of Titan Clean Fuels (“Titan”). The transaction, which follows Molgas’ initial 45% minority stake, marks a major step forward in the Group’s strategic growth in the clean marine fuels sector.

Titan is a leading independent supplier of liquefiedbiomethane (LBM/bio-LNG) and LNG, serving both maritime and industrial customers. Its fleet of small-scale bunkering vessels operates across key global markets, with a strong base in the Northwest European region. Titan’s LNG bunkering operations will merge with Molgas’ existing operations in Norway and all truck-to-ship supply across Norway and continental Europe will now be combined.

With the integration of Titan, the Molgas Energy Group now operates a fleet of seven LNG bunkering vessels and manages a proprietary network of over 70 road-fuelling stations, with more than 200 points of sale including associated partner stations. This expanded footprint positions Molgas as a pan-European leader in downstream LNG and bio-LNG solutions for industrial, road transport, and marine customers.

The acquisition comes at a time of accelerating momentum for clean fuels. LNG and bio-LNG are increasingly recognized as scalable, low-emission alternatives that can play a vital role in decarbonizing both shipping and heavy-duty road transport. With tightening regulations, like EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime, and therefore growing demand for sustainable energy, Molgas and Titan are well-positioned to lead the transition toward cleaner mobility and logistics.

Following the transaction, Niels den Nijs will lead Molgas’ Marine Business as Executive Vice President, Marine. He will oversee all marine activities, delivering integrated end-to-end ship-to-ship and truck-to-ship bunkering services across Europe.
